My topic of interest is health. I have been in school at the Monterey Institute for a year and a half. I think that it is very important to stay healthy while you are in school and under stress. The ways that I keep healthy are by exercising and eating well. I like to exercise at the Monterey Sports Center and go to spin classes and pilates classes. The classes at the Monterey Sports Center help me relax and stay focused on my studies. If I don't exercise, I start to feel more sleepy and less motivated to do my work.
Another thing that I think is important to stay healthy is eating well. I like to eat a lot of different foods, from fruits and vegetables to meat and pasta. My favorite foods are potatoes and watermelon. Eating a lot of vegetables and fruits also help me to stay focused on my school work and feel healthy.
Something that I think is unhealthy is trying crazy popular diets. In the U.S., I think that a lot of people try "crash diets" that are fast ways to lose weight. The diets often do not help people to develop healthy eating habits. They do not help people to exercise regularly. Then, people end up losing weight quickly and gain it again in a couple of months.

ReplyDeleteI agree that it is important to stay healthy, especially while you are busy and in school. I also try to go to the sports centers, but as you know, I often feel too busy to go there. I love yoga class, the teacher on Saturday morning is my favorite. I also like spin class, the teachers yell and scream and make you work really hard.
I think eating healthy is also important. I am a vegetarian, which often is connected with healthy eating. BUT...you can be a vegetarian and still be unhealthy. Ice cream, cakes, cookies, candy bars, are all vegetarian and are VERY unhealthy!!!
This weekend I went for a bike ride along the bay. The waves were crashing and the weather was a perfect temperature. I hadn't exercised in a long time, so it was a lot of fun.
My biggest problem with exercise is finding the time. Do you struggle with this too?
I DO struggle with finding the time to exercise! I think the best thing for me is to get into a routine. Then, I have a section of my day reserved for exercising, and I just need to get there!

ReplyDeleteYou known what? I have got 3 pounds since I arrivred in America.It's just 15 days.It's so unbelievable isn't it???
But actually I known why, because I eat too much chocolate, ice-cream, peanut butter,cereals and some junkfood. These foot are different from China.I am in danger..........
You'll be okay! I think it's hard when you get to a new country, and you try all the food. You'll be safe, just take some walks by the ocean and go for a bike ride sometimes :)
